Ezra 1

Questions:

  1. The Book of Ezra is a historical record of the people of Israel. What significance does it have for us today?
  2. We love God’s grace and faithfulness because they give us comfort and strength. How does this relate to God’s purpose?

Message Two: The Calling of the Overcomers

Key Scripture

Ezra 2–3

Questions:

  1. The list of returnees feels unfamiliar to us. What is the significance of recording these names in Scripture?
  2. Why was it necessary to build the altar before rebuilding the temple? How can this be applied to our daily lives?

Message Three: Building the Temple

Key Scripture

Ezra 4–6

Questions:

  1. The great work of rebuilding the temple was hindered and stopped by the enemy. This is the outward situation. How was their restoration related to the ministry of the prophets?
  2. After the temple was rebuilt, the people kept the Passover. Why was this important? How can this be applied to our daily lives?

Message Four: Adorning the Temple — The True Reality
